2020 Best findings for Skin Care, Hair Care & Make-up!

Hello ma ladies out there. 2020 has been a crappy year overall. Let’s be honest, we were all affected in one way or another and it’s been touch to make by. One thing got me going though, working from home. Yes, that’s right! I finally had some time for myself, time to get to know what works for my skin care routine, for my hair care, try a new product here and there. I wanted to share my findings below, as some of the products have really changed my life. Here are my Best Skin and Hair Product Discoveries of 2020.

1. Briogeo Farewell Frizz™

The company came in existence in 2013, founded by Nancy Twine. Besides the fact that it is a black-owned company, the brand caters for all hair types and hair care needs. The coolest fact is that the products are based on her grandma’s recipes. How fun is that? Briogeo is natural based and free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, DEA, and synthetic color.

Now I have very straight hair by nature. However due to consistent dying with the hopes of having a blonder, ‘miss-sunshine look’, I damaged it deeply. It caused my hair to be super frizzy and the humidity where I live doesn’t help.

My favorite are the Farewell Frizz™ Smoothing Conditioner and the Farewell Frizz™ Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioner Spray. . I like to use both, especially since I can re-apply the spray from time to time. If you are suffering with your frizzy and uncontrollable hair, give these 2 a go!

2. Clarins Hydra Essentiel Cream

Skin care is hard… and I had a hard time finding a good face cream because my skin is super sensitive. I tried many any I would always get a rash. The only one that was okaysh was Clinique, but it used to leave my face very oily in the morning and after a full day of work. I received a deluxe sample from Sephora and man, I loved it from day one. The cream had an amazing consistency that hydrated my skin while being absorbed really fast. It didn’t make my face oily and just gave me a great feeling on my skin. Smooth and silky! I was only afraid about the possibility of a new rash or reaction, but that didn’t happen either. For someone with sensitive skin, I totally recommend this cream.

Be aware the consistency of the creams differ greatly between normal/combination and very dry skin. They also have a cooling gel and that will be very different too. Be aware of this when you make your purchase and I advise you to discuss with the specialists in the Clarins boutique.

3. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 30

Yea, yea, I now. This product has a really long name!!! But it is amazing for a natural make-up look, if that is what you are going for. I did and so happy I found it. Historically, I really love Laura’s products. I did try her previous tinted moisturizer and I liked it too, only the constancy was sticky. This one though, glides gracefully on the skin and evens out the skin tone. It has many shares as well, so it’s not hard to find the right one for you.

I also love that is has SPF, so I don’t have to buy a separate cream for this purpose only.

The product is light on the face, feels like it you are not wearing anything. Makes the skin glow from within and doesn’t crease at all after a full day of wear and tear.

4. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer

So here is the thing. I have dry under-eye area and it makes so hard to find a good concealer. I tried everything, watched Youtube reviews, tested the most awarded products (see my article here) and nada. Everything changed this year when I found this marvelous concealer tho.

It is a natural-matte and lightweight concealer, with an oil free formula that comes in 22 shades. It works for most skin types but I think especially for dry under-eye skin. It also doesn’t melt away with humidity so that’s simply amazing. But the most important thing for me was the fact that it didn’t dry and make my under-eye darker, like the other concealers do. If you are suffering from the same conditions as me, give this one a try! Hope you like it as much as I do!!

5. Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder

I was not so good at picking powders before. I didn’t really get it. Compact, powder? Some are translucent, some coming in shades. Some that give you glow, some that make your skin matte. So it was very confusing for the longest time on which one would work for me. I finally gave it a try and  bought some on the Black Friday Sale.

However only the Hourglass Veil impressed me the most. Honestly now I get what I was missing and how much it helps with the oily parts of my face. It also keeps the makeup on place and I even use it on my eyelids when I don’t have a primer. Now I don’t see myself without a powder and I will definitely repurchase this one!

That’s it Friday Scoopers! Tell me, have you tried any of the skin and hair care products mentioned in my list?
